Writing for TV and Web Series is an introductory-level exploration of basic methods involved in writing for TV and Web Series. Students will develop various craft skills and techniques in writing for both TV and web series including research, story development, scene structure, dialogue, and character definition. Students will develop culminating projects ranging from short-form web series to writing a TV Bible and/or Pilot.
Formats covered will include: Pitching, Loglines & Synopsis, Treatments, Overheard Dialogue, Step Outlines, Bibles and 30 - 60 minute TV episodes. Classes will include a single-hour of lecture followed by a workshop of student material.
This course meets once a week for three hours over an eight-week term.
